Comments: Well, here is the Bethlehem multi cam. What a chore. Lots of factors involved, I was not aware of going in. This is my
first multi cam and edit project and I learned the program on the fly.
The first issue was having 4 different angles with 4 different quality cameras. So I had to make each angle blend as much
as possible with the others. Some were sharper, some less focused. Or the colors didnt match, etc. Not an easy task, but I feel
I've managed it well enough.
The biggest issue was with "angle #3". It was very dark, a bit grainy, and lacked color. No matter how much I tried, it just
didn't mesh with the other angles. But, it has so much great footage, I couldn't leave it out.
So, the plan was to make this show similar to the KISS Konfidential home video. KISS spliced in black and white clips with color
clips for the Alive 3 footage. So, the "angle #3" clips are in black and white on this dvd. This enabled me to brighten the dark
footage a great deal, and the lack of color was a non issue. It lent itself well to black and white. And I didn't have to lose
all that great footage, thankfully. This is why I named the show "Bethlehem Konfidential" on the menu screen.
The other issue I was hoping I didn't have to deal with, is bad footage. Each angle has its moments with shaking or camera ducking.
The hope was to have footage from another angle to cover the camera drops, etc. In many cases this worked out. In some spots it was
inevitable and all 4 angles were ducking or shaking simultaniously.
I wanted the show to be "true" and not edit in footage from another spot in the show, over bad clips. So, when there was not a good
angle to use, I tried my amateur, artsy approach at making what was available, look the best possible.
It's far from perfect, and I can always see something I'd like to fix. But, at a certain point I have to just accept what is there.
The audio is exclusively from "angle #2". It was the only complete audio for one. Angles #3 and #4 had lousy audio. Angle #1 audio
is as good as #2, but was missing Forever and the end of SSB. Not to mention the filmer of #1 changed positions, ultimately changing
the tone of the audio half way through.
I used the #2 audio for all 5 Bethlehem dvd's.
I balanced the #2 audio and did my usual EQing and tweaking. It sounds nice and mean like a Revenge show should.
